Revision of European species related to Tricyphona livida (Diptera: Pediciidae)

European species of the Tricyphona livida Madarassy group are revised and five species are recognized, viz. T. alpigena (Strobl), T. contraria Bergroth, T. livida Madarassy, T. alticola Strobl and T. schummeli Edwards. Redescriptions of all and a key to species are presented. T. alpigena and T. contraria are reinstated as valid species. Lectotypes of T. contraria and T. alticola and neotype of T. livida are designated. Male and female genitalia are illustrated for all five species.
